I am enchanted by what I perceive to be the secret lives of rooms – a presence in the supposed absence of any inhabitants.  Within the usual domesticity of each space, I am drawn to a portal, whether a mirror, a window, or a painting hung on a wall, which transforms the ordinary into a new and sometimes disorienting experience. The nature of reflections to confuse and disorder even the simplest room leaves me looking into overlooked corners and spaces for these magical moments.  The rooms I photograph, even when seemingly empty, seem surprising full of life.
